Empress Kytana

We run a production company that deals in different aspects of the entertainment-artistic field, including: photography, short feature films, live shows and web creation.

Mission Statement
To promote gifted local and international Sirens (models, entertainers, actresses, etc.) in the mainstream and alternative genres. Doing so through photography, live shows or movie production, our objective is to provide a quality service with taste, dignity, respect, integrity, and professionalism. Our goal is to make them SHINE.

Photography
We started out by collaborating with Montreal photographers but now we produce our own material. Our unique style is defined our subjects which vary from vampire ladies to light fetish themes and more recently pin-ups with a modern twist. Sirens Studio, located in Montreal, is available to book for your own projects. We have shot with many local models and have enjoyed real creative and fun sessions with outside talent, like Mz. Scream from Vancouver, Miss Juliette from NYC and Jenny from Toronto.

If you are a female interested in having her thematic web space with a fetish or fashion or pin-up or vampire touch, you can contact us and we’ll be mighty proud to help you getting started (this includes photo shoots and page conception).

If you want to become immortal… there’s no need to sell your soul!

Short Feature Films
We have participated in the production of two short feature films. One of them, HOLLYWOOD SKIN, has been screened at various film festivals and had its Canadian premiere at the 2010 Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal.

The second one, MARCHE BLANCHE, is in the process of being edited and will be premiered soon.

Both were directed by two local Sirens.

Live Shows
Sirènes Productions produced its first live show on July 22nd, 2009, at Petit Campus in Montreal. It included a variety of performances from some of our local Sirens, ranging from theatrical numbers to light fetish acts to song & dance with a naughty twist!

Family of Sites
Cult Sirens has been online since January 2003, mainly proposing biographical portraits of actresses not really well known in the North American public eye. Performers like Laura Gemser, Marisa Mell, Michiko Nishiwaki and Chelo Alonso are now sharing web space with seasoned personalities like Halle Berry or Sigourney Weaver. The majority of these guests have been mostly part of the horror, fantasy, science-fiction or erotica movie genres, or have contributed to memorable B-movies or classic low-budget productions.

Have you consulted Fetish Cult Sirens yet? This is the big buzz right now in our family of sites, featuring alternatives models from all around the world. We recently welcomed our 150th guest and we're still adding talented personalities!

Another big project includes a Vampire Cult Sirens illustrating a supernatural theme, to be revisited each year.

Bio Ben
Ben ChenierI have always been obsessed with pro wrestling sagas, Russ Meyer imagery and my long-standing Marvel Zombie status. Telling a story through any artistic work is also a top priority. Thousands of movies have I watched… even if the thrill of wonderment is so difficult to come by anymore (God bless PAN’S LABYRINTH). But almost all of my creative spirit comes from movie or comic books references.

Finally coming out of a personal creative numbness, I became a contributor and finally editor of the late, lamented Montreal sci-fi club Alliance Fiction Montreal, around 1995 or so. Writing about sexy actresses was one of its most popular attraction (I wonder why?), so I took the plunge and launched Cult Sirens in 2003, running things on my own from now. A couple of years ago I decided to try to produce some original art work, mostly by photography. It was amusing and instructive to collaborate with some local photographers but still the vision in my head was not quite satisfied. My biggest turning point was taking the shots myself… boy do I still have a lot to learn but I’m very pleased with the results so far.

Somewhere down the line I wrote a novel… of which a translation to the screen is becoming more and more a certainty. Anyone know a 6’3” Asian girl with red hair? Oh and how could I forget? I used to be the official film critic on a weekly local television show about the supernatural! Some people actually stopped me at the supermarket to chat so I became an instant celebrity! LOL
I also design some web stuff… my own sites, of course, and some of my friends’. Simplicity is very often the solution!

I feel a lot of satisfaction in having been the initial creative spirit behind the Sirens sisterhood, as I feel that each girl (local or international) contributes something worthwhile to this whole fantasy Universe. Will I meet each and every one of them in this lifetime? Well… probably not, but I’ll do my best.

For the life of me, I couldn’t even try to get any interest in taking a photo shot of a puppy starring at us with its big reproachful eyes lying in a wicker basket… but from as far as I can remember, enjoying and now creating images of women displaying their own power, confidence and beauty still gets me going.

Mix this with trying to compile my own version of Marvel continuity, regularly losing patience with computer hardware/software (not that bad with a Mac now ‘tho), wanting to rule the world with a resurrected Peter Lorre (hey, not my original idea… a guy really tried it twice!), enjoying useless movie trivia lists … well I guess I’m still young at heart and have finally found my muse (or muses, right Kytana and Lexxi and Tamiyah? lol).

One of the biggest praise I ever got was when a fan mentioned in 2009 that our Vampires project had similar qualities that can be found in filmmaker Jean Rollin’s work. It doesn’t matter if you know or even like Rollin: for me it became a sign that I’ve finally succeeded in making my own contribution to the world, and becoming more and more able to put my distinctive stamp on it from now on.
